Hello. I was not expecting to find a stock image like the one above, and then one day on Pexels, there he was amongst all of the other forgettable male models. Hi, man of my dreams.

If I have a type, that is definitely it. Dark hair, pretty, brooding. Sensitive souls, artists, not ‘roided up superheroes or jocks. I’m as superficial as the next person, don’t get me wrong, but I have often felt like my tastes in men were not very mainstream.

Weirdly very good looking younger men still hit on me until fairly recently in my dotage, but as my 50th birthday gets closer (well, in just over two years) I suspect those days are gone.

Maybe I should have flirted just a tad with that ludicrously handsome French barista a few years ago in Paris giving me “the eye” every morning when I picked up my coffee, what harm would it have actually done? I was still young enough to think that kind of thing didn’t have a shelf life. Petite sigh.

I found this stock photo when I was planning on writing about something different, which has since gone out the window. But is seems a crime to waste it/him! Just look at that steely yet soft gaze, that perfectly tousled black hair, come on.
