A long strange trip, indeed! Fantastic summary Chris. We still have a couple of record stores in my city, the chain one HMV switched over to a lot of vinyl in the past years. I am that dinosaur who still buys cds, which all I ever hear about is how cd's are dead but apparently sales were way up last year, possibly because vinyl manufacturers can't keep up with demand. My uncle worked in a record store and would always get me the latest singles on record as a kid, I remember my first walkman too. :-)
