April Fool’s Day is Stupid

This is for all the gullible people

I hate April Fool’s Day. There, I said it. It’s a stupid day full of the lowest common denominator of humor. It’s designed to be a “Gotcha!” for the gullible, and if you are a big fat gullible type like me, it’s tedious in the extreme.

I can guarantee I will be fooled at least once today, even though I am on high alert.

I just lack whatever spidey sense there is that makes people innately suspicious of all first impressions. I take things at face value as a base level response. That nanosecond where most people catch on to a scam/rug pull takes me several more seconds or minutes.

Even on regular days, my gullibility used to be used against me as a gentle weapon by some of my school friends once they caught on. Gullible people are fun to string along!

Except it’s not fun for us. Sorry to be a party pooper. I think I have a good sense of humor generally, and I know I sound whiny.

April Fool’s Day is just a day, and it’s over with, and we move on. But I still remember the feeling in the pit of my stomach I used to get in school on this wretched day.

I still feel full of hot shame if a dumb fake article gets me. I don’t feel victorious or smug when I do recognize one right away, because the…
