I witnessed an interesting thing on Twitter yesterday. The actor Rainn Wilson, known for being like most actors, fairly liberal (to my knowledge) in political leaning, quote tweeted a link to a statement by the recently ousted Fox News host Tucker Carlson. He said that he couldn’t believe it, but he agreed with pretty much everything Carlson was saying.

Anyone who bothered to read the link transcript or watch the video (I chose the former) would have seen that Carlson is on some sort of Jerry McGuire-esque image rehab tour.

He is attempting to distance himself from much of the right wing extremism he himself espoused at Fox News. He is calling bullsh*t on a lot of it, and is effectively accusing the news media on both sides of being little more than divisive propagandists.

Carlson is also admitting the people in power on both sides of the aisle have far more in common with each other than the vast majority of us…
