Articles that Medium Has Recommended to Me This Week Besides New Articles By My Most Read Writers

another rant

Me waiting to see my favorite Medium writers. photo author, Day of the Dead festival, Village of the Arts, Bradenton Florida

I am like many others here it seems, fed up and frustrated with my Medium feed. It’s only gotten worse in the past month. I do not want dozens of emails a day in my inbox, I don’t respond well to being overwhelmed with emails and will just end up feeling guilty. It shouldn’t be this hard.

I am regularly seeing new articles that:

are on subjects I never read

I have already read

My LEAST read publications show up the most, without fail. Many publications require you to follow them to be a writer. I may want to publish with them someday, but I am feeling forced into unfollowing pubs. But still writers don’t show up even when I do so what does it matter?

are OLD as heck. I had one this week that was 10 years old. Sure, evergreen content, yada yada. But where is the new stuff from the people I choose to follow and read?

It’s alienating and tedious and they broke it and act like it’s not a problem that some of us aren’t getting any reads anymore. I’m sick of it. I work hard on some things I write here and hit publish knowing my audience is either gone or can’t find me. It’s depressing and pointless here now for me it seems.
