Great points all Jill. The playgrounds of our youth were indeed a dentist's dream! I was the cowardly kid who didn't climb too high on the rocket ship monkey bars (with a nice concrete landing pad ;-)), preferring to watch in awe as others climbed to the top and seemingly daily had a dramatic fall (my neighbor was this little daredevil boy who was never not in a bandage or cast!). I mean, I can see why we have moved on to be more sensible but as you say, at what point does it remove all common sense/self preservation instincts. I am the grumpy one refusing to move as people staring at their cell phones walk straight into me, I have kind of had it with that! If they need a reminder to look before crossing the street then maybe that's survival of the fittest at this point. ;-0
