Ha, glad it is not just me! It's always one enticing story that I only see once, meanwhile the same stories clog up my feed for days, even ones I have already read! I feel ingrateful re: highlights because it means someone liked something I wrote (although I do think it's weird when someone highlights and doesn't comment, what is that? ;-)). But yes, I don't see why they need to imprint on the story for everyone else who reads, for me personally it detracts a bit visually from reading. There is only one article about highlights which surprised me, the only advice in it was to unfollow the person who highlights and it will disappear but that is not ideal and also I don't think it works anyway as I have had people highlight who I don't follow. Idk!
