I admit I have been mistaken for Canadian by Brits on occasion (my accent is...confusing I guess!) and the temptation not to correct them is potent. The Canadian rep is definitely better abroad! It sounds like you are raised/educated to be conscientious as opposed to the annoyingly earnest exceptionalism imbued in American schools (which I think has only gotten worse since I was in school). I also wonder if Canadians are more cognizant of their superior in most of the ways that matter healthcare due to the proximity of the U.S. They take it for granted in the UK, and have allowed it to be driven nearly into the ground by conservative politicians. It really worries me, they would be in for a world of hurt here without the NHS. Britain has its own superiority complex that I find almost as annoying as America at this point tbh, Canada sounds like the "geeky cousin" I would much rather hang out with!
