I admit I never dug into this genre, or these artists anyway. I have always been partial to a bit of Billie Holiday and Patsy Cline for the sad girl blues though. :-) Also Bob Dylan's Standing in the Doorway is a "torch song" imo, I would recommend! It's like eight minutes of heartbreak in a glass, a nice tall glass of "gin soaked powder room" (love it!), sounds good!
