I am sorry to hear this but wish you all the best. Hopefully the writing bug will hit you again, some time off always helps me anyway. Enjoy your retirement anyway. You never know what change is around the corner here, I have been here a few months longer than you so I understand completely how you feel. I also relate to not feeling like the best writer, but you have an audience and will clearly be missed so don't sell yourself short!
