I didn't have a birthday wish from my father for most of my adult life, so maybe I have a different perspective but at least he tried to help her, as misguided as it was, with giving her a home for awhile. More than my dad ever did for me! But I can understand why it's more complicated with your daughter. You have so much compassion and love, many people don't, even with family. I hope she finds a way to live peacefully and healthily someday for the sake of her children.
