I do think there are readers. They only read boosts, because that is all they are shown. On Substack they also likely migrate to bigger accounts that get reblogged into their feed. Medium used to be wonderful for the little guy starting out. It is attracting the worst kind of spammy behavior lately, I hope they do something about it.
