I don't generally read in those topics, but once in a while for a giggle I will look at say, "The Fart Cup"....which I always thought had some sort of credibility because it's a "big" pub (I don't know where I got this idea though tbf) and it is full of forgive me, complete horseshit and genuinely terrible takes. I say that with an entry level understanding of finance (I worked for an investment company as a customer service rep and then another few in NY so had to learn about the markets and all that jazz). I have more knowledge than most of these people yet would never put myself forth as an expert, like you it's unfathomable to me how people bullshit their way through life doing stuff like this. Yet it's rewarded and amplified here. It's very slippery, I find it immoral for a corporation to allow such freeform bullshit to flow the way it does here and I'm surprised they lift it up so unconcerned with actual facts. Expert advice my ass.
