I live in Scotland, we get no trick or treaters where I live, it's bliss! No one is required to participate in trick or treating, it has gotten really aggressive in America, my Mom's doorbell doesn't stop ringing all night, most of the kids aren't from the neighborhood, some of the "kids" are babies in strollers/aka the candy is for the parents lol. Or very old teenagers, we would have been embarassed to go trick or treating when I was that age! Glad you are protecting your pets from the stress, hope you have a good night with them.
