I loved reading this as a fellow only child X'er. I felt so connected to these films growing up. I watched Brats today and felt like he missed a few opportunities to dig deeper, there was a hesitancy rooted in the negative impact he was still toiling with. I would love to see another doc where they all just told stories. It was fun to see them all though (well most of them). There is a cute book called Looking For Andrew McCarthy by Jenny Colgan you might like, a frilly read but much nostalgia and an "appearance" from him that is quite realistic feeling. :-)
