I loved this! Thanks for the shout out! I feel I should put a disclaimer that my Mom's parents were definitely more moneyed than we were, so my Grandpa's foods were a bit fancy for me! I grew up eating junk food with my Dad too. I love that your Dad introduced you to his food loves from his childhood. I wouldn't say no to a corn dog, I admit we still get hot dogs when we visit America because they are a treat/we don't have them in the UK. Grilled cheese sandwiches and beans sound interesting! And your Dad's cake sounds amazing, sorry you can't figure out the recipe. Maybe someday! Thanks for sharing your memories of him, very heartfelt and moving. I'm sorry you didn't have longer with him, he sounds like he was an awesome dad. 💗
