I reached 100 relatively quickly in my first month but in retrospect I wish I had held off following anyone who doesn't read back or interact with comments. I am happy to just be a fan of some writers but if people just follow me and don't ever read it's a bit pointless. Medium introduced the 100 follower thing during my first month here so I like many probably did feel a bit of pressure to meet that arbitrary number and not convinced that's particularly built an organic following.
