I relate from the opposite side of the spectrum, as the person who moved to the ostensibly better country, you still miss home, even if you know you would be worse off! I think it's harder for women too, as my family and friends are so important to me, but it's hard to argue that living in the land of gun chaos and horrible healthcare is in any way better, it is still my homeland and I will always feel somewhat out of place living in the UK. Expat love, tough stuff! The Netherlands seem great, I have only been once but really loved it!
