I think the adapt/sink or swim cycle grows wearying when it happens as dramatically and often as it does here. We are definitely the unpaid dogs chasing the elusive rabbit for the most part. Taking part of a writer's earnings when they are usually so meager would make me feel weird. But it stinks to know my publication doesn't stand a chance if things stay as they are. Apparently the Medium corporate glitterati are on a retreat in Scotland as we speak, hard not to resent their profit margins flying them here when I have never earned enough for a plane ticket home in a month. 🙄
