I think this is a very valid issue, I recently replaced a drip coffee maker that was two years old, it must be my third of fourth in the past decade. Meanwhile my Mom still has the Mister Coffee that I had in college, something really has gone very wrong with our manufacturing systems and what we as consumers expect and put up with.
