Impressive and interesting deep dive! I will forever refer to them as 3EB now! I admit I did a double take when I saw "punk" and this band in the same title, but you argue their case admirably. I lost track of them after the big hits, maybe I will give them another listen. I think a lot of bands wrote suicide themed tracks in this era/the one just before them. The Replacements "The Ledge" comes to mind. Fun read, thanks! :-)
