Interesting deep dive! I will check out your article about non-Aldean small town songs. This one is a nice example lyrically of avoiding corny, simplistic themes about hometowns. It might take a minute to grow on me, the production is a little jazzy/overdone for my ears, I like the Simon & Garfunkel early era sounds better I guess. Great read, thanks.
