It is hard not to feel like we attract these people sometimes if it keeps happening. Like you say I am also just damaged enough to know better (well now I am lol), but I do think that people who have empathy are like magnets for energy vampires/ drama llamas as you say sometimes. Glad you aren't letting it get to you (but also drawing a line in the sand saying not to try it lol!). It amuses me that Medium has so much drama as there is little on site communication really aside from comments and notes. But drama chasers will find a way I guess.
