I've always felt pretty basic with my Wes Anderson tastes as Rushmore is still my favorite. At some point I just lost interest/it felt too contrived despite enjoying elements of his work. I would be interested to see Del Toro in his universe though, he's pretty under-utilized imo for whatever reason and I can see how him doing this would be fun. Also the premise interests me more than some of his other films so will maybe check it out. Excellent write up, thanks!
