I've had an uptick in people asking me to follow them in comments, a lot of "I read you now can you follow me in return". I feel for them but also I am not just going to follow someone unless I want to, like you I put in the time here and it's not that hard to get to 100 if you read and comment and write regularly. Medium setting an arbitrary deadline is not fair on new writers though.
