Love it! I'm 46 so I relate to this musical retrospective a lot! I do think the voices of the 90s were more powerful, emotive, less showy than the caterwauling "soulful" type lead singers today (waves old lady stick ;-)). I saw INXS live when I was 15 and Michael Hutchence, dear god, sex on legs! I wasn't super into grunge, I was more of a Smiths/Cure kinda chick but Eddie definitely has a unique and powerful sound and has weathered the storms of rock star life better than most of our generation.
