Love this Ellen. Congrats on finding your Medium sweet spot and making the site work for your needs, not the other way around. Your writing has always rung true/seemed from the heart to me. I think if I searched my most monetarily successful pieces they wouldn't necessarily reflect my best writing, but I do think there is something to be said for writing to the best of your ability and paying less attention to what you think you should write.
