Loved this so much! Oh so relatable. I have never been "the fashion girl" but I have always made an effort that is maybe a bit extra. I think it's the former actor in me, it's a costume for me in some ways to play dress up. I was at a wedding a long time ago, I had on the "perfect" outfit, it was beauty, it was silk and flapper pale teal grace, yes there was a matching flower in my hair. I was so satisfied with it. And then there was this woman there who somehow was instantly the most stylish person in the room, but also had put in far less effort than anyone else. She was so aloof, all in black, messy hair, perfect. I hated her instantly lol. Ah, fashion fail, my heart hurts just thinking about it ha ha. I don't think I am ready to go full Parker Posey in Party Girl just yet, though. I read her memoir recently and it's got lots of pictures of Parker in various wonderfully silly turbans and kimonos and such, she has embraced the mad midlife woman ethos and if I had a little more guts I would veer in that direction I think! Fun read, thanks!
