Magical! I lived on Ludlow Street in the mid 90s and much time was spent with my roommate hoping for a glimpse of them (I think she was eventually rewarded with a Thurston sighting!). We saw them play in a rickety old theatre in '95 and I just remember thinking the balcony was going to collapse the amount of sonic vibration in that space! CBGB's was past its prime by the time I arrived, sounds like the perfect moment in time to see them when NYC was still full of quirky shops with special deals! :-)
