When time is money
I don’t know about you but when looking for new stories to read my first glance is at the read time. We all know that certain lengths can promise certain things on Medium, am I right?
8-minute read: Settle in, you are either in for a masterpiece or a rambling navel-gazing opus. Or a very boring article about something you do not have eight minutes worth of interest in.
1-minute read: What is this cheap razzle-dazzle crap. They just want to trick you into reading something else. Or it’s a poem. Cool.
13-minute read: Woah Nelly. Someone woke up on the wordy side of the writers’ bed today. They are feeling luxurious with adjectives and extra of yarn. Either that or they wandered on here clueless from somewhere else and think that the longer the better with the writing lark, right?
4-minute read: A perfectionist, a Medium God, expect bullet points and white space, subtitles and FINAL THOUGHTS. You can bet they got up at 4 a.m. to write this, the first of 500 Medium articles on productivity life hacks they have planned for the week. You can buy their course on how to be a Medium zillionaire but you cannot buy their mysteriously soulless mass appeal, soz losers.
3 minute read: An actual freak. It is almost impossible to write anything this length. See also…
