And it makes me wonder — in addition to it being a time that women are likely to be vulnerable, could the emotional state of these women, learning to deal with unfamiliar changes, have been seen as a threat, a possibility of their minds being overtaken by the devil, and therefore a scapegoat for every unpleasant event, sickness, death, or anything else that can happen in the human realm?
