Poetry will never be hip or a big money maker, but I love that it flourishes on Medium, it gives gun shy poets like me motivation to (think about) publishing my probably terrible poetry. Even the worst poem usually comes from a good place, a true desire to try for something more, and as you say poetry is subjective. Off to read your 6 cent poem, I am sure it's a hundred times more marvellous than 90% of the self serving how to make money posts that flood my feed! ;-)
