So relatable! I read so much when I was younger, now it's like pulling teeth. I think being an English major in college made me hate books for awhile I admit. It's not fun having to read 2-4 books a week or god forbid Chaucer and Beowolf lol! I agree the internet is hard to tune out, it really does have to be forcibly removed from me, like you say it's amazing when it happens and you relax into that non-stimulation zone. I force myself to do yoga and meditate because I don't love how over-stimulated my brain is. I have also started watching movies again, I know it's not reading but I think it stimulated my brain in a way tv doesn't. Especially old classics, this week I watched Funny Face and To Catch A Thief and it was amazing. Also music helps. I find listening to it while I'm writing/doing other stuff very calming. We should start a Medium book club to hold us to account! 😀
