So THAT's where I have always gone wrong! This attitude is enviable to me in the extreme. I just turned 47 (ACK) and relate to a lot of this. It's been a weird time of much existential despair mixed in with some (attempted) healing/awakening/listening to my inner voice more etc. I know I am less insecure/unhappy in many ways than I was when I was younger, but I still get depressed when I think that so many things were now SO long ago. I laughed at your subtitle, my uncle got an earring in his mid 40s (and kept it!), I will always remember that as his "midlife crisis moment". I don't know if I have had mine yet but I feel like it's probably imminent. ;-)
