Sorry that happened to you, and while I agree with you re: stories reporting on every little thing that happens without much substance, the author possibly didn't know you were writing about it (But given the circumstance, it seems unlikely that he would care either). Self publish is the only way to be first here on breaking Medium news I guess unfortunately! Has your story about it been published yet? You should link it here when it is.
