Such a thoughtful piece! I was not raised with religion or much money. But I always had enough, and the privilege of a good education, and parents who cared (well mostly one parent, another story). I have tried to cultivate mindfulness and some sort of spirituality, I enjoy trying to make sense of the bigger picture. I have seen religious people leave lots of money to the church as a seeming barter. For instance my grandmother, a huge sum of money that could have contributed towards her grandchildren's education. I think money in the right hands can do much good, I think our fear of it holds us back. But it is hard not to see the greed and corruption most people handle it with as evil. Tricky!
