Thanks Andrew, sorry if I was being defensive, this piece has drawn an unexpected amount of heat! 😅🙈 Sense & Sensibility and the BBC P&P are the best, as is Alan Rickman, hard agree! The recent Netflix version of Persuasion was an abomination. I know what you mean re: imitators I think. I loved the subversive feel of Wes Anderson in the beginning too, all of this has taught me to think harder when composing critiques and if my opinion is merited. I usually write more positive pop culture stuff that no one reads so this has been an education!
