Thanks Benny. I have been here since July 2021, so relatively new too. I was nervous about the negative/maybe ott paranoid tone this piece took on but it's just my observations/feelings from the energy and messages we are receiving with the new regime. I am far from the first person to notice the inequalitites of the flourishing bro-pereneur trade that stays at the top here and seemingly is promoted by Medium in many ways.

But most of us just keep our head down and write and enjoyed the positives of the site, the community feel made it worthwhile when hard work and artistic efforts rarely garnered monetary results here. I had two random hits that kept me floating for awhile too, thinking the next one might be around the corner. You never know, and it's nice when it does happen. I never expected Medium to pay my bills and considered it a nice bonus/reward for all of the other writing that earned pennies. But to be told not to "expect" it to pay us, when it so clearly pays certain types of writers profiting off the desperation of others handsomely, really riled me lol! Ah well. we'll see how it goes. I wrote a slightly more positive piece after this because it felt heavy to me to let the spleen out I guess lol. I am grateful to Medium, truly, I just wish they would listen to more than a few of us.
