The faux friendliness is unbearable enough in America, what I can't handle is they have forced cashiers and other public facing staff into it here in the UK now and they are clearly deeply uncomfortable with it so it's horrible on every one. Also they say "What are you up to today, busy?" here now as a matter of course and I cannot cope with that level of awkward intrusion....gahhhh.
