This is so tricky and sad. At some point the kids are going to have to call the shots, especially as their mother grows weaker at her age. It's not helping the brother to let him live in that state but maybe it has gone on for so long it can't be helped. Very tough one. I'm sorry you dealt with addiction so close to home too, that can't have been easy.
