I graduated from high school in 1993. Which is apparently, as of this year thirty years ago. Where the hell does the time go. Nobody warns us — ok everybody warns us but still, it will happen to any whippersnappers reading this in the blink of an eye, trust me!

I remember my Mom’s twenty-fifth high school reunion. I was excited because she let me do her makeup. I remember her saying the women all looked the same but the men all looked much older.

I have never been to a high school reunion. Living in a foreign country for the past twenty plus years has probably been a large factor, as well as the fact that most of my friends haven’t bothered either.

I don’t know if they are having one for this, I think there was one for the 25th but my class hasn’t had a ton of reunions compared to some other classes.

I watched the cult show Freaks and Geeks recently for the first time and even though it was set in 1980 it brought back memories of that time in my life. My friends and I were definitely in the category of “freaks and geeks”, and while there was occasionally some overlap with kids from different cliques, I would have felt lost trying to mold myself into something I wasn’t.
