Very relatable. I took a half hearted break for two weeks but the gollum in me still checked in. A total detox would probably make me feel the same at this point, having had a very similar ascent and decline trajectory here too. Along with the external validation, it used to feel like every day I discovered new writer I loved, it used to feel like growth was possible, even incrementally. Almost no recent followers even read me, I am wading through way too much AI, the delicious drug that was Medium for awhile has definitely lost its buzz for many of us I think. For many reasons.
