Weirdly UK airports are (vaguely) affordabe. You can get a cold drink and a snack from a chain pharmacy that costs about what it would elsewhere. The restaurants are a rip for the most part, and we no longer have duty free thanks to Brexit which makes it less appealing to shop. I think food is way more expensive in America, but gas is like quadruple here compared to U.S. so maybe it evens out. Something has to give at some point. People are hurting and Biden gloating about the economy without acknowledging the reality is harder for many may be a dangerous take (weirdly the same tack used by Tories here, July will be telling of how much it takes for people to wake up).
